Adoration
Eucharistic Adoration is time spent in common or private prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. We adore and honor the Eucharistic Presence of Christ. As Catholics, we believe that Christ is truly and substantially present in the Eucharist. We pray for vocations to the priesthood, religious life and for our own spiritual development.
We make time for so many things in our busy lives, let’s give ourselves one hour once a month, to feed our spirit and soul, to be inspired, strengthened, and renewed so that the challenges of life are not too heavy.
Pope John Paul II said: “Prayer of Adoration in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament unites the faithful with the Paschal Mystery. It enables them to share in Christ the sacrifice of which the Eucharist is the permanent sacrament.”

Please sign up below and come spend a holy hour with Jesus! Holy hours are the Roman Catholic devotional tradition of spending an hour in Eucharistic Adoration in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.
“The Eucharistic Sacrifice of the Mass brings to us Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Real Presence of His Body and Blood. Eucharistic Adoration with Exposition of The Blessed Sacrament provides time for each of us to spend in adoration, prayer, and conversation with our Lord Jesus Christ in His Real Presence. It is worthwhile remembering that Fr. Karl Rahner, SJ, once said that the presence of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament is “the Mass held in meditation.” Each individual adorer, the parish, the diocese, our country and the world, benefits from our faithful participation in this ministry. We live in a time in which prayer is needed for grace, mercy and protection from the forces against God which challenge us daily.” - Bishop Vann
St. Bonaventure participates in the Diocese’s Perpetual Adoration program by having Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament exposed in the Church for 24 hours on the 7th of each month. Adoration normally begins at 9:00 AM on the 7th (or after the last Mass if on a Sunday), continuing until 6:00 AM on the 8th (or before the first Mass if on a Sunday).
We have had a number of parish ministries commit to being present at a specific hour in this 24-hour period, so that we can be sure Jesus is not left unattended, without worshippers. Those ministries are:
